Southern Water
Fountains Forestry advise, manage and have a Duty of Care for approximately 500 hectares of mixed woodlands (predominantly broadleaved) in Kent and East Sussex owned by Southern Water Services Limited.
We have worked closely with Southern Water in the planning and execution of operations to achieve the objectives of the owners. All properties border supply reservoirs and form part of the reservoir catchments. fountains has worked closely with Southern Water’s Public Relations Departments to promote their environmental stewardship.
The current remit of Fountains Forestry is to maintain the environmental and investment value of Southern Water’s woodlands; to manage public access and to provide suitable access and information facilities for visitors. Managers have recently been involved in heathland creation and habitat management for the rare Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterfly, an endangered species in the South of England.
