Fountains Forestry has been awarded the management of tree harvesting works for Sheffield City Council for the past two years.
Management responsibilities include the preparation of the timber for standing sale, including tariffing and marking of stands. During the tendering process, the local managers maintain close liaison with the customer over the selection of the successful tender.
Prior to harvesting works, detailed harvesting plans are prepared which identify and record site hazards and constraints. All works are monitored to ensure Health and Safety compliance as well as compatibility with the harvesting plans.
Large numbers of the general public visit the woods owned by Sheffield City Council. fountains managers are tasked with the communication and management of the general public during felling operations.
Restocking works include windrowing prior to planting, fencing and planting. Managers are tasked with a Duty of Care on an annual basis for the new plantations.
Scope of Work:
Preparation of timber sales particulars, tendering of timber, management of operations, site restocking and maintenance.
